Meet Troy & Jennifer

We never planned to own a furniture company.

Jennifer spent her career as a nurse and hospital administrator. Troy served his community as a firefighter. We loved serving people, but like many families, we struggled to find furniture we'd be proud to bring into our own home.

We wanted solid hardwood. Timeless design. Furniture built to last for generations—not just until the next trend.

We searched the “box stores”.

We kept leaving disappointed.

So we decided to build our own.

Looking back, woodworking had always been part of our story. Jennifer learned the value of craftsmanship in her grandfather's woodshop, where she discovered that the things built with care are often the things treasured most. Troy built his very first side table in seventh grade for his grandmother—a project that sparked a lifelong love of creating something with his hands.

What began as a table for our own home quickly turned into something much bigger. Friends asked if we could build one for them. Then neighbors. Then friends of friends. Before we knew it, our garage workshop had become Good Shepherd Design Co.

Today, we're still intentionally small.

When you call, you'll talk to one of us. When we design your furniture, we'll design it together. And when it's finished, there's a good chance we'll be the ones delivering it to your home.

Every piece we build is crafted from solid North American hardwoods and designed specifically for the family who will gather around it. No veneers. No shortcuts. No assembly line. Just honest craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and furniture built to become part of your family's story.
